Blackpool have signed Jamaica international defender Nyron Nosworthy on a short-term deal until January.

The 34-year-old former Sunderland and Gillingham centre-back had been without a club since leaving Watford in June.

Nosworthy, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Bristol City, told the club website:, external "I've met the boss and it seems a relaxed environment. Things are looking good.

"It's a chance to play some games and improve where we are in the table."

Having initially joined the Hornets on loan, Nosworthy spent two-and-a-half years at Vicarage Road after signing from Sunderland in 2012.

He has been capped 13 times by Jamaica and has scored one senior international goal.
