Cheltenham ended their four-game losing run with a point against visiting Oxford United in Paul Buckle's first game as Robins manager.

Byron Harrison's first-time effort looked to have given former Bristol Rovers boss Buckle a dream start.

However, it was not to be, as Tyrone Barnett equalised for the U's when he fired past Trevor Carson.

Buckle had Carson to thank though, as the keeper made a series of fine saves to keep the score level.

Cheltenham Town boss Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"I've got to be thankful to everyone at the club, particularly the fans, because they've made me so welcome.

"The staff have been brilliant, the players gave everything and in the end we've got to be happy with a point.

"I could sense a victory, I really could. When their goal came, it was a test of our mentality and we dug in.

"It's going to be a tough season, in January we're going to need to add and help this squad, but at the moment they've given me everything."
