Tranmere Rovers 3-1 Portsmouth

Goals from Shamir Fenelon, James Rowe and Max Power gave Tranmere their first league win since August as the League Two strugglers overcame Portsmouth.

Fenelon gave the home side a flying start with an early close-range finish.

A deflected 18-yard shot from top scorer Jed Wallace drew Portsmouth level just before the hour mark.

But Rowe's finish into the corner gave Rovers the lead, before Power followed up his missed penalty to tuck home his fourth goal in five games.

Awford on Tranmere v Portsmouth

Portsmouth manager Andy Awford speaks to BBC Radio Solent:

"Frustrated again, we didn't play particular well first half and conceding after 85 seconds is very disappointing.

"You don't want to concede at any time whether you are a defender or a striker; the plain fact is we have conceded another three goals on our travels today because a clean sheet today and we could have won the game.

"We will just keep going, I just said to the players we can't give in on it and that's not my nature, you know that and everybody knows that and I won't allow the players to do that. We have to keep doing it and working hard as we mean to do."
