Port Vale have completed the signing of former Manchester City striker Alex Nimely on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
The ex-England Under-20 international, who had loan spells at Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Crystal Palace during his time in Manchester, was released by City in the summer.
Liberia-born Nimely, 23, had been on City's books since 2008.
"He's got pedigree behind him," Vale boss Rob Page told the club website., external

Nimely made his bow at Liberian Premier League side Mighty Barrolle, who won the title in 2006, before moving to Cameroon side Coton de Garoua, who won the Elite One title three years in a row between 2006 and 2008. |
"I spoke to a good friend of mine who says he has quality and we know he is going to bring in that quality, so it's pleasing to get his signature.
"We need to get him fit, he knows that himself, but I think once we do get him fit we'll have a player on our hands."
Nimely's arrival at Vale Park follows ex-Porto winger Enoch Andoh signing an 18-month deal earlier in the week.
