Manny Smith scored his second goal of the season in the FA Trophy tie at Southport

Andy Mitchell's second half goal earned Southport an FA Trophy first round replay against Wrexham.

Manny Smith's header from Connor Jennings' cross had given Wrexham the lead on 16 minutes.

Mitchell equalised on 64 minutes, hammering home the rebound after David Fitzpatrick's free-kick had hit the defensive wall.

The Conference rivals will meet again in a replay at the Racecourse on Tuesday, 16 December.

Wrexham manager Kevin Wilkin told BBC Radio Wales:

"It's far from ideal but I think we can count ourselves a little but fortunate to still be in the cup after the whole 90 minutes.

"We haven't played very well is the truth of the matter. There was one or two half chances but we didn't really deserve anything more than we got."
