Ravel Morrison has made four substitute appearances for Cardiff since manager Russell Slade took over in October

Cardiff have granted Ravel Morrison compassionate leave and permitted him to train with parent club West Ham.

The midfielder, 21, on loan from the Hammers, had been due to remain at Cardiff until after the Boxing Day match against Charlton Athletic.

But he has been allowed to return to more familiar surroundings because of personal circumstances.

The former Manchester United trainee has made seven appearances for Cardiff since joining in September.

Morrison's last outing for Cardiff was as a substitute in the 0-0 draw against Rotherham United at the beginning of December.

His appearance against the Millers was his first since Cardiff's 3-0 defeat away at Bolton on 4 November.

Morrison joined West Ham from Manchester United in a £650,000 deal in January 2012.
