Natasha Dowie signs new Liverpool contract

Liverpool striker Natasha Dowie has signed a new contract with the club.

The 26-year-old's goals have fired the Merseyside club to consecutive Women's Super League titles.

Dowie was the top scorer for Matt Beard's side, hitting the net 13 times last season, and was voted the FA Players' Player of the Year.

Liverpool manager Beard said: "She is a proven goal scorer who played an important role in both title successes."

The prolific forward also managed 19 goals in 21 appearances during the 2013 season, and has scored five goals for England., external

Dowie was delighted to sign a new deal, saying: "The aim for the club now is to win even more trophies and I'm really looking forward to challenging for all four trophies next season."
