Chesterfield beat MK Dons in the second round of the FA Cup for the second time in a month to set up a third-round meeting with Scunthorpe on Tuesday.

The League One sides were forced to replay the tie after the Spireites fielded an ineligible player in their initial 1-0 win at Stadium MK.

Gary Roberts met a cross from Eoin Doyle to sweep home the winner.

Benik Afobe was lively for the Dons throughout, testing keeper Tommy Lee before firing into the side netting.

Armand Gnanduillet, who netted the only goal in the original fixture on 6 December, found the back of the net again with a header but had his effort disallowed for offside.

He also went close to doubling the visitors' advantage with a lobbed effort on 79 minutes.

While the hosts were menacing, Dean Bowditch's header off target from a Danny Green cross after the break was as close as Karl Robinson's side came to levelling.
