Premier League predictions: Lawro v commentator Steve Wilson
- Published
BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.
Lawro's opponent for the Premier League fixtures on New Year's Day was Match of the Day commentator Steve Wilson.
Wilson correctly predicted a rare defeat for Chelsea in their trip to London rivals Tottenham and tipped Manchester City to beat Sunderland - results which left the teams with identical records at the top of the table.
"Spurs hardly ever beat Chelsea, but even that has to happen every now and again," Wilson told BBC Sport.

A correct result (picking a win, draw or defeat) is worth ONE point. Getting the exact score correct earns THREE points.
The last round of festive fixtures, on Sunday and Monday, saw Lawro get three correct results from 10 games, with no perfect scores.
His score of three points was enough to beat Unbroken star Jack O'Connell, who picked two correct results, with no perfect scores, to give him a total of two points and leave him joint-bottom of the guest leaderboard with Bolton manager Neil Lennon.
We are keeping a record of the totals for Lawro and his guests (below), and showing a table of how the Premier League would look if all of Lawro's predictions were correct (at the bottom of the page).
