Barnsley have signed England Under-19 striker Alex Kiwomya from Chelsea on an initial one-month loan.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace defender Peter Ramage, 31, has extended his loan stay with the League One side until the end of the season.

Kiwomya, 18, joined the Blues from Rotherham United in 2010 but has yet to make a senior appearance for the Premier League club.

He is available to make his Football League debut against Yeovil next week.

"I'm young, I want to express myself and show what I can do," Kiwomya told the club website., external "Danny Wilson is the perfect manager and it's the perfect time.

"I'm really glad to be here. I know a couple of the lads. I've played with Ross [Turnbull] and I know Mason [Holgate], they're a great set of lads and I'm looking forward to playing with them."

The forward, whose father Andy and uncle Chris both played League football, has been capped by England from Under-16 to Under-19 level.
