Bolton Wanderers striker Zach Clough has signed a new contract until 2017, two days after scoring on his debut.
The 19-year-old netted the winner in the FA Cup third-round win over Wigan with a clever finish over advancing Latics keeper Ali Al-Habsi.
The Manchester-born forward has now agreed an extension to his deal.
Speaking after the win over Wigan, boss Neil Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester: "When you're that small you have to be special and I think he is special."
He added: "We felt he's been coming on and progressing quite well.
"I had a player at Celtic in James Forrest and Zach's very similar to him. I think that's the biggest compliment I can pay Zach.
"We just have to be mindful we don't get carried away."
After saying that he would like to add new additions to his squad, Lennon also revealed he is looking to start making progress on signings this week.
"We're definitely going to bring one player in next week and we hope to bring another few in as we go along," he said.
