Championship side Watford have signed Mexico full-back Miguel Layun from Granada for an undisclosed fee on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

The 26-year-old has been training with the Hornets this week, having joined the Spanish side from Mexican outfit Club America at the end of December.

Granada and Watford are both owned by the Italian Pozzo family.

Layun featured in all four of his country's games at the 2014 World Cup and has 17 international caps in total.

When Granada signed Layun on 30 December, they announced on Twitter, external he would be sent on loan to Watford for the rest of the season.
