Port Vale have signed defender Freddie Veseli on a contract to the end of the season after he mutually agreed to cancel his deal with Ipswich Town.

The 22-year-old had been on loan at Vale, where he has played 16 times so far this season, and it was believed his temporary stint would be extended until the end of the campaign.

But the ex-Manchester City trainee has signed full-time forms at Vale Park.

"He is a fantastic addition to a strong squad," said Vale boss Rob Page., external

Meanwhile, midfielder Louis Dodds says he wants to extend his contract at Vale Park past the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has played 271 times for Vale since joining from Leicester in 2008.

"I'd love to stay because I'm settled in the area," he told BBC Radio Stoke. "I've got my wife and family around here, so I want to stay and hopefully that will look after itself.

"You can play games, and you can think about the game at the time, and a few weeks into it you think 'I need to start talking about my contract'.

"It's hard because you're playing for your future and in a couple of months you could be out of a job."
