Isak Ssewankambo: Derby County sign ex-Chelsea youth player

Isak Ssewankambo never made a first-team appearance for Chelsea

Ex-Chelsea youth-team defender Isak Ssewankambo has joined Derby County on a two-and-half-year deal after a short trial spell with the Championship side.

The Sweden Under-21 international, 18, joins the Rams after leaving Dutch top-flight team NAC Breda.

Ssewankambo, who can play at right-back or in midfield, helped Chelsea win the FA Youth Cup in 2014 with a goal in the second leg of the final against Fulham.

He played 13 Eredivisie games for NAC Breda after joining in July.
