Newcastle United defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has signed for Italian club Roma on a permanent deal for £5.5m.

The 25-year-old joined the Serie A club on loan in September and has made 20 appearances for Rudi Garcia's team.

Yanga-Mbiwa made 46 appearances for Newcastle under previous manager Alan Pardew.
