Northampton Town have signed former Torquay United and Swindon Town striker Billy Bodin on a deal until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old has not played since April, after damaging knee ligaments, and was released at the end of his Gulls contract in the summer.

He played under Cobblers assistant manager Alan Knill at Plainmoor.

"I've been doing my rehab here for the last two months," the Wales Under-21 player told BBC Radio Northampton.

"I knew Knilly from Torquay. He spoke to me in the summer and said when I was back fit I should finish off my rehab here and hopefully sign a deal.

"Hopefully I can push on from here."

Bodin scored six goals in 70 league games across two years with Torquay, and was previously at Swindon, where he was on target three times in 16 appearances.
