League One side Sheffield United have agreed new contracts with striker Jamie Murphy and defender Terry Kennedy.

Murphy, 25, moved to the Blades from Motherwell in January 2013 for an undisclosed six-figure fee, and has singed a deal until 2017.

Former Barnsley trainee Kennedy, 21, has signed until 2016 with both players having the option of an extra year.

"Both are influential members of the squad and have the potential to be even better," said boss Nigel Clough

"Jamie has caused Premier League defenders countless problems in our cup runs, whilst Terry is a no-nonsense defender, the type of which are particularly appreciated at Bramall Lane."

The club have also revealed the 19-year-old striker Diego De Girolamo has declined the offer of a new contract.
