Transfer Deadline Day: Southport sign Louis Almond

Louis Almond was released by Blackpool last summer

Southport have signed former Blackpool forward Louis Almond from Hyde on an undisclosed contract.

The 23-year-old spent most of last season on loan at Hyde, scoring four goals in 28 league games as they finished bottom of the Conference.

He has also previously played in the division with Lincoln City and Barrow.

Almond is ineligible to make his debut in Saturday's clash with fellow strugglers Alfreton as he is currently serving a suspension.
