Cheltenham have signed striker Mathieu Manset until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old Frenchman was released by League One side Walsall on Monday, after scoring once in 24 appearances.

He becomes the fifth signing in two days for the Robins, who brought in midfielder Jordan Wynter and forwards Eliot Richards, Denny Johnstone and Wes Burns on transfer deadline day.

Meanwhile, player-coach Steve Elliott has left the club after four-and-a-half years at Whaddon Road.

The 36-year-old defender has returned to full fitness after a recent knee injury and will now look for playing opportunities elsewhere.
