Oxford United have signed former Notts County striker Jeremy Balmy until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old, who started his career at Le Havre, made three substitute appearances for Notts but was released earlier this season.

"The next two years are very important for me. I need to play as many games as I can," he told BBC Radio Oxford.

"It's a nice move. I came one week ago and was made very welcome. I'm feeling good about coming to Oxford."

Meanwhile, the U's are also in discussions with 19-year-old midfielder Callum O'Dowda about a new contract.

"Callum's in a good vein of form," said chief executive Mark Ashton.

"He's got this year and next year to run on his contract but we're in ongoing discussions and we'd love to extend that."
