Northampton Town have signed Shwan Jalal until the end of the season to replace released keeper Dean Snedker.

Jalal, 31, joined Bury in the summer, but featured eight times before leaving on transfer deadline day.

He previously spent six years at Bournemouth, playing 171 times.

Cobblers youth product Snedker, 20, had made three appearances for the senior team, and is expected to join Brackley Town, where he had a loan spell earlier this season.

Jalal played under Northampton boss Chris Wilder during a loan spell at Oxford United in 2013.

"I had a good relationship with the gaffer, so it was a no-brainer," he told the club website., external

"I enjoyed the whole vibe in the changing room and they seem a great bunch of lads here."
