Birmingham City have "sufficient funds" to complete the 2014-15 season and should not be deducted points, the receivers of the club's parent company have told the Football League., external

Birmingham International Holdings Limited, based in the Far East, went into receivership earlier this month.

Receivers Ernst and Young have told the League their appointment should not be considered as an "insolvency event".

Blues could be deducted 10 points if the Football League decides otherwise.

If such a sanction was imposed, it would send Gary Rowett's side, currently 17th in the Championship, into the relegation zone.

In a statement, the Football League said the receivers had "made it clear" that they had "undertaken to work in a transparent manner" to enable the "League's Board to consider the matter at the earliest possible opportunity."

The League added that they had received confirmation that no funding would be withdrawn from Birmingham City.
