John Cofie: Crawley Town sign ex-Manchester United trainee

Crawley Town have signed former Manchester United trainee John Cofie on a short-term contract.

The 22-year-old striker, who did not make a senior appearances during his time with the Red Devils, has agreed a one-month deal at the League One club.

Cofie had loan spells at Royal Antwerp, Sheffield United and Notts County during his time at Old Trafford.

He was released by United in the summer of 2013 and has subsequently spent time at Barnsley and Norwegian side Molde.

Ghana-born Cofie, who joined Manchester United at the age of 14,, external has scored three goals in 23 Football League appearances.

He could make his Crawley debut in Saturday's home game against Gillingham.
