League Two strugglers Carlisle have signed Middlesbrough defender David Atkinson and Brighton winger Jeffrey Monakana on loan until 2 May.

Former England youth international Atkinson, 21, has yet to make his Boro first-team debut, and failed to play on loan at Hartlepool in September.

Monakana, also 21, played 50 games for Preston before joining Albion in 2014.

Carlisle have signed four players this month after bringing in midfielders Jason Kennedy and Paul Corry.
