Cardiff City: Russell Slade set for summer talks with Vincent Tan
- Published
Cardiff City manager Russell Slade is set to travel to Malaysia to hold talks at the end of the season with the club's owner, Vincent Tan.
Although Slade has been asked to travel to Kuala Lumpur this summer, it does not seem his position is under threat.
After the 3-0 defeat to Bolton on Easter Monday, Slade said he had been assured by the club's board he is the right man to be in charge next season.
However, Cardiff's board is aware of fan apathy towards Slade and his style.
Tan is keen to further cut costs at a club which is more than £150m in debt - and that will form a big part of the talks which will take place in Malaysia.

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Team | Played | Won | Drawn | Lost | For | Against | Goal Difference |
Championship | 30 | 11 | 9 | 10 | 36 | 40 | -4 |
FA Cup | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 4 | 3 | 1 |
Total | 32 | 12 | 9 | 11 | 40 | 43 | -3 |
Slade has overseen a sizable trimming of the playing squad since taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in October 2014.
In March the club's top scorer Kenwyne Jones, who scored 13 goals in 36 appearances for City in 2014-15, was loaned to Championship leaders Bournemouth until the end of the season.
The Bluebirds are currently 13th in the Championship with five games to go.
Their next match is away to Leeds on Saturday 11 April, who are 14th in the table, level on points with Cardiff.
