Queen of the South: Key trio extend contracts with Doonhamers

Queen of the South's plans for the 2015-16 season are taking shape after three key players signed new deals.

Captain Chris Higgins, along with forwards Derek Lyle and Iain Russell, have extended their contracts until the summer of 2016.

Manager James Fowler said: "They have played a big part in the success so far this campaign and deserve the reward.

"Discussions with other players continue and I hope to get a few more tied up in the coming weeks."
