Torquay United: Martin Rice and Aaron Downes amongst leavers

Martin Rice made 35 appearances for Torquay United this season

Conference side Torquay United have released nine players including goalkeeper Martin Rice and defender Aaron Downes.

Rice made 90 appearances in two spells with the club whilst Downes turned out 115 times after joining in July 2012.

The Gulls also released Elliot Benyon, Dale Tonge, Duane Ofori-Acheampong, Krystian Pearce, Courtney Cameron, Mickey Parcell and Tom Cruise.

Torquay finished their first season back in the Conference in 13th place.

Meanwhile, Toby Ajala, Levi Ives and Daniel Lavercombe have all been offered contracts for next season.
