Ross County will release 14 players at the end of the season

Ross County will release 14 players at the end of the season as manager Jim McIntyre begins his rebuilding for next season's Scottish Premiership campaign.

Club captain Richard Brittain is among those moving on after the Dingwall club narrowly escaped the play-offs.

"It's been a huge squad effort to turn around our season. Everyone has played a part," McIntyre told BBC Scotland.

"It goes without saying I wish all the boys every success in their future careers."

Jake Jervis, Mark Brown, Joe Cardle, Graham Carey, Antonio Reguero, Terry Dunfield, Benedict Frempah, Abdoulaye Meite, Roben Palazuelos, Steven Saunders and Darvydas Sernas are the other names leaving the Highlands.

Both Filip Kiss and Cameron Burgess will return to their parent clubs after loan deals.

The Dingwall men are though in talks with Michael Gardyne, who has been released by Dundee United.

McIntyre is also in discussions with Paul Quinn, Martin Woods, Scott Boyd, Rafa de Vita and Rocco Quinn, while the club are also keen to keep Jackson Irvine, who is still contracted to Celtic.

County finish their league campaign on Saturday away to Kilmarnock.
