Joshua King: Bournemouth sign Blackburn Rovers midfielder

Bournemouth have signed Norway international Joshua King on a three-year deal from Blackburn Rovers.

The 23-year-old turned down an offer to stay at Ewood Park to join Eddie Howe's squad at the Goldsands Stadium.

King is their third signing this week following the arrival of goalkeepers Artur Boruc and Adam Federici from Southampton and Reading respectively.

Blackburn will be due a compensation fee,, external which will be set by tribunal if they cannot agree a fee with the Cherries.

King began his career at Manchester United and made two senior appearances for the Red Devils before moving to Rovers in January 2013 following a loan spell.

"I've seen what the manager has done with the squad here and the football Bournemouth play suits me very well I think," he added.

After starring for Blackburn in their FA Cup run this season, including a hat-trick against Premier League side Stoke City, Howe believes he will be a valuable addition to the squad.

"We've seen, in flashes, at Blackburn what a good player he can be and the Stoke game was a real stand-out moment from his season," said the Bournemouth boss.

"Whether he plays as a central striker or as a wide player, he has that versatility which will be invaluable to us."

King has made 15 appearances for Norway since making his debut against Iceland in September 2012.
