Jake Carroll: Hartlepool United sign ex-Huddersfield defender

Carroll was released by Huddersfield at the end of the past season

Hartlepool United have signed defender Jake Carroll following his release by Huddersfield Town this summer.

Carroll, 23, has played for Bury, St Patrick's Athletic in Ireland and Scottish club Partick Thistle in addition to his Huddersfield spell.

The London-born player, who can play in midfield, will complete the deal subject to Football League clearance.

Pools have already signed Rakish Bingham, Harry Worley, Carl Magnay and Rhys Oates for the coming season.
