Championship side Brighton have signed Israel international forward Tomer Hemed from Almeria for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.

The 28-year-old joined Almeria from Mallorca last summer, and scored eight goals in 35 games for the Spanish side.

Hemed has also represented Israel at every level, scoring 10 goals in his 15 senior international appearances.

"I have no doubts about Tomer adapting to Championship football," said Albion boss Chris Hughton.

Meanwhile, Brighton are hopeful that midfielder Andrew Crofts and forward Sam Baldock are on course for a return to training in pre-season after their respective knee injuries.

Baldock has been sidelined since March, while Crofts has not played since a 1-1 draw at Watford in October 2014.
