Gillingham have signed Northern Irish striker Rory Donnelly on a two-year contract following his release by Swansea City at the end of last season.

The 23-year-old spent the latter part of 2014-15 on loan at Tranmere, scoring five goals in 20 appearances.

Donnelly made two senior appearances for Swansea - including a Europa League game - after joining the club in 2012.

"Rory is a young striker who I've had my eye on for a while," Gills boss Justin Edinburgh told the club website., external

"His time at Tranmere on loan will have done him a lot of good and I believe we have pulled off a very strong signing."
