Port Vale have signed striker Uche Ikpeazu on a six-month loan deal from Premier League new boys Watford.

Ikpeazu, 20, spent the second half of last season on loan with Vale's local League One rivals Crewe Alexandra, scoring twice in 24 appearances.

"We saw that when Crewe came here last season and he was one of the best players on the pitch."

Ikpeazu began his career on the books at Reading before moving to Watford in July 2013.

He signed for Crewe on loan the following January - the first of three separate temporary spells with the Alex.

Ikpeazu had a seven-game spell at Doncaster last season before returning to Gresty Road in March.
