Inverness Caledonian Thistle have signed forward Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo on a one-year deal.

The DR Congo international, 25, was most recently with French third-tier side Frejus Saint-Raphael and has also played in Croatia and Belgium.

"Andrea came across on trial a couple of weeks ago," manager John Hughes told the Inverness website., external

"We've been very impressed with him in both training and the trial game he played against Nairn."

Mbuyi-Mutombo, who has one senior international cap, could feature in Caley Thistle's Scottish Premiership opener against Motherwell in the Highlands on Saturday, should international clearance be obtained.

"He is still slightly off it in fitness terms but that will come with games," added Hughes.

"He can play in all positions across the front, either on the wing, behind the first striker or as that first striker and we are looking for a big contribution from him this season."
