Will Hoskins marked his Exeter City debut with a late winner at they beat West Country rivals Yeovil Town.

Tom Nichols gave City the lead from the penalty spot before David Wheeler made it 2-0 as he calmly finished past Yeovil goalkeeper Chris Weale.

Marc Laird pulled one back straight after half-time before Matthew Dolan equalised from the spot.

But with six minutes left former Brighton and Watford striker Hoskins lifted the ball over Weale to win it.

Yeovil Town manager Paul Sturrock told BBC Radio Bristol:

"Obviously a straight ball caught out our defence again. It's going to take time for this team to settle down.

"It was a fantastic fight for us to get back into it again and we started to create two or three chances.

"But we're all gutted obviously because it would have been nice to have come away from here with something."
