Ben Davies: Portsmouth sign versatile ex-Sheffield United player
- Published
Portsmouth have brought former Sheffield United midfielder Ben Davies to Fratton Park on a one-year deal.
The 34-year-old, who left the Blades in May, spent pre-season with Pompey.
Davies, who can also play in defence, has also had spells with Notts County, Shrewsbury and Derby.
"I spoke to a few clubs closer to home, but as soon as I knew Pompey were interested it was an easy decision to make. I'm delighted it's happened in time for the first game," Davies said.
"I like to play all over the place - at Derby I was a left-winger, right-winger and right-back, and at Sheffield United last year I played most of it at right-back," he told the club website., external
