Glen Rea: Southend sign Brighton defender on loan

Southend have taken two points from their first four games in League One.

League One side Southend United have signed Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Glen Rea on loan until 2 January.

The 20-year-old has made two senior appearances for the Championship club, both of which came in the League Cup this season.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, could make his debut for the Shrimpers at Coventry on Monday.

"It's right for his development to get some regular league football," Albion manager Chris Hughton said.
