Hamilton Academical have released former Clyde left-back Kieran MacDonald.

The 22-year-old, who signed for the Premiership club last summer, broke into the first team at the end of last season, making eight appearances.

However, Accies signed Latvia left-back Antons Kurakins and the Scot has not featured in their first six fixtures.

MacDonald said on Twitter: "Was a good year with Accies, but it was time for me to move."

On arriving from Clyde, he had initially been sent out on loan to Dumbarton and made 13 appearances for the Championship outfit.

Meanwhile, Accies have also released 17-year-old striker Danny Armstrong, who was part of their under-20 squad.
