Dortmund were under pressure to keep apace with Bayern Munich after their 3-0 win over Darmstadt on Saturday but responded with a commanding display.
Jonas Hofmann opened the scoring after he was picked out by Shinji Kagawa, who added a second from close range.
Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed the result with a penalty.
