Scotland 0-4 Norway: Visitors too strong in Firhill friendly
- Published
A makeshift Scotland side fell to defeat against a well-drilled Norway in their final warm-up match before the Euro 2017 qualifiers.
Emilie Bosshard Haavi put the visitors ahead with a stunning long-range effort.
Ada Stolsmo Hegerberg and Nora Holstad Berge increased the visitors' lead either side of half-time.
Late on Ingrid Moe Wold took advantage of a Jennifer Beattie mistake to make it 4-0.
Scotland coach Anna Signeul left many of her stars on the bench, including Kim Little and Rachel Corsie, with Tuesday's qualifier in Slovenia on her mind.
That is the first of three qualifiers in quick succession, with matches against Belarus and Macedonia set to follow.
Norway, who made it to the knockout stages of this summer's World Cup, showed their class early on.
Lisa-Marie Utland was twice denied in the opening stages; first by a superb low save from goalkeeper Gemma Fay, then a goal-bound effort was blocked by Eilish McSorley.
Hegerberg soon hit a post but the visitors would not be denied and Haavi found the net with a thumping effort that crashed down off the crossbar and into the net.
Scotland grew into the game, and Christie Murray and Jane Ross both shot wide of either post.
However, two goals either side of half-time put the game beyond Scotland's reach. Hegerberg heading past Fay from close range, and Berge poking in at the far post.
The scoring was complete when Beattie failed to clear and tripped in the box, allowing Wold the easy task of putting the ball past replacement goalkeeper Shannon Lynn.
Scotland went close late on when substitute Lizzie Arnot drilled a low shot wide but they could have no complaints about the result.
