Bristol City: Elliott Bennett & Simon Cox join Robins on loan

Bristol City have signed Norwich winger Elliott Bennett and Reading striker Simon Cox on loan until 3 January.

The Robins are currently bottom of the Championship table but will have the services of 26-year-old Bennett, formerly with Wolves and Brighton.

City boss Steve Cotterill then sealed his sixth loan recruit of the season by adding 28-year-old Cox.

He has already signed Ben Hamer, Liam Moore, Nathan Baker and Callum Robinson on loan deals this campaign.

City are however only permitted to name five loanees in any matchday squad.

Bennett has struggled for first team football recently and has made just two appearances for the Canaries this season, both in the League Cup.

The winger won promotion from League One with Brighton in 2011.

Cox left Swindon Town for West Bromwich Albion, external for £1.5m in 2009 and spent two years at Nottingham Forest before joining Reading in 2014, but has made just three Championship appearances for the Royals this term.
