Gus Poyet: No Swansea approach for manager, say AEK Athens

Swansea City have not made an approach for AEK Athens manager Gus Poyet, according to the Greek club.
Former Sunderland boss Poyet, 48, is understood to be interested in the Swansea job, and has been tipped to succeed Garry Monk, who left last week.
Swans chairman Huw Jenkins was abroad on Monday, continuing his search to find Monk's replacement.
An AEK spokesman said Poyet was happy at the club, who lie third in the Greek Super League, and had not left Greece.

"We have not been approached by Swansea, there is no need for us to be approached and no propositions have been made from Swansea," the spokesman said.
"Mr Poyet is happy at the club and will be our manager at least until the end of the season."
Swansea are believed to want to name their new manager this week, before hosting West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Former Argentina and Chile coach Marcelo Bielsa, who is currently unattached, has emerged as a strong contender to take over at the Liberty Stadium.
The 60-year-old has been out of work since leaving Ligue 1 side Marseille in August after just over a year in charge.
Sevilla manager Unai Emery has also been linked with the job.
