Rory McIlroy hits closing 72 in Bridgestone Invitational

Rory McIlroy hit a closing two-over 72 at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday in his final competitive round before the defence of his US PGA title.

The American coasted to victory, seven shots clear of compatriot Keegan Bradley and Swede Henrik Stenson.

Graeme McDowell finished on five over after a closing 72.

Shane Lowry was two further shots behind McDowell after a closing 69.

McIlroy was in a share of 27th place with McDowell tied for 40th.
