Taekwondo (80kg class)
Born: 03/06/91
Career background
The 21-year-old Londoner is a controversial selection in the -80kg class, having been preferred to world number one Aaron Cook. GB Taekwondo's decision drew widespread criticism and was only ratified by the BOA at the third time of asking.
Other career
Muhammad may not be world number one (in fact he is ranked 59th in the world in the -80kg class) but he won gold at this year's European Championships in Manchester in the -87kg class and beat Aaron Cook on his way to a silver medal at the German Open in March.
Personal
He has been coached since the age of three by his father Wayne, who represented him in the high-profile Olympic selection meetings. Lutalo says of his father: "I am proud to say I owe him everything."
