Hull KR's Shannon McDonnell to leave at end of season

Hull KR full-back Shannon McDonnell has rejected the offer of a new two-year contract and is to leave the club at the end of the season.

McDonnell, 24, joined the Robins from Newcastle Knights in the close season on a one-year deal.

Chief executive Mike Smith told the club website: "Everyone at Hull KR has been impressed with him, both on and off the pitch.

"We really wanted to keep him, which is why we made him an improved offer."
