St Helens have agreed to sign back-row forward Atelea Vea from Super League rivals London Broncos for next season.

The 27-year-old Tonga international joined the Broncos from NRL side St George Illawarra last year, after spells at Cronulla and Melbourne Storm.

He has agreed a two-year contract at Langtree Park, but has the option to extend his stay by a further year.

"I had many offers but I felt it was the right fit for me after speaking with the coaching staff," said Vea.

"I played against Saints not too long ago and liked the feeling of the place even though we lost.

"The crowd were very vocal and it felt like somewhere I would like to be."

He is the second signing made by Saints this week after full-back Shannon McDonnell joined until the end of the season after leaving Hull FC.
