Salford have re-signed Wigan hooker Logan Tomkins on loan and signed Wynnum-Manly Seagulls prop Olsi Krasniqi until the end of the season.

Tomkins, 22, spent the majority of last season on loan at Salford and scored three tries in his 18 outings.

Albania-born forward Krasniqi, 22, spent four years at London Broncos before his move to the Australian side.

The Red Devils have options to extend the deals at the end of the season.

Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash has also been reacting to the news that Super League has voted to allow a marquee player outside the salary cap next year.

"The sport, for once, can go out and compete for the very best rugby players in the world," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"We can compete with rugby union and the NRL - and it can only be good news for the sport and the fans."
