Flanker Dominiko Waqaniburotu will miss Fiji's World Cup pool games against Wales and Samoa.

The 25-year-old has been banned for three weeks for a dangerous tackle during Fiji's 49-3, external defeat against South Africa last Saturday.

The back row forward was cited for a spear tackle on Springbok full-back Patrick Lambie towards the end of the game in Wellington.

Waqaniburotu, who plays for Waikato, was spared a six-week ban.

He has been suspended until 9 October meaning he will also miss the quarter-finals, should Fiji reach the last eight.
