Jersey's coaches have hailed the debut of young full-back Chris Levesley.

The 17-year-old is a product of the club's academy and made his first start for Jersey in their 31-10 win over Sedgley Park on Saturday.

"Making your debut is one thing, but making your debut in front of 2,000 people at home is another pressure entirely," head coach Ben Harvey told BBC Radio Jersey.

"He's worth his weight in gold, I think he's got a great future ahead of him."

Harvey's assistant, Ben Evans, was equally pleased with the Hampshire Under-17s player.

"He's come through the ranks and the boy stepped up to the plate," said Evans.

"[Saturday] was that transitional period for him of going from being a boy into a man.

"I don't think he missed a tackle, I saw him clearing out rucks, the boy did good."
