London Irish centre Jonathan Spratt signs contract extension

London Irish centre Jonathan Spratt has signed a two-year contract extension with the Premiership club.

The 25-year-old has played 10 times for the Exiles this season, after joining from the Ospreys in the summer.

Spratt has represented Wales at all levels and made his international debut in 2009, appearing in Test matches against Canada and the United States.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at London Irish and I'm delighted to be staying," said Spratt.

The Welshman has been comfortable playing at both inside and outside centre this season performing well in both positions.

London Irish head coach Toby Booth added: "Jonathan has been a great addition to our squad for this season, playing well in both centre positions.

"He brings experience to our midfield and it is great that he is to remain part of the squad."

Meanwhile, Anthony Watson and Tom Smallbone will be joining the London Irish Academy next season.

England Under-18 and Under-20 full back, Watson was shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2011 after a fine year of rugby.

The 18-year-old, is the youngest London Irish player to play in the Premiership, making his debut against Newcastle Falcons in September 2011.

Loose-head prop Smallbone, 18, will has been involved in the London Irish Amateur club from a young age and joined the EPDG aged 14.

He has been involved in the England Under-18 set up and was part of the successful touring group that returned undefeated from Australia in August 2011.
